Professional Profile: Miss Victoria Rose is a British-trained, fully accredited Consultant Plastic Surgeon based at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. She is listed on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). Her primary area of expertise is complex microsurgical reconstruction.
Since qualifying in 1995, she has built a distinguished career in plastic surgery. She was appointed as an NHS Consultant in 2007, initially working at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. In 2013, she returned to London to lead the Plastic Surgery Trauma Reconstruction service at King’s College Hospital. She is currently on secondment at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where she is establishing a dedicated microsurgical gender reassignment service.
From 2021 to 2024, she served as Chair of the Plastic Surgery Specialist Advisory Committee for the Joint Committee on Surgical Training. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education as well as a degree in Medical Law, and is an Honorary Lecturer at King’s College London.
In addition to her NHS work, Miss Rose has been actively involved in humanitarian efforts in Gaza since 2019, working with the charity IDEALS. She initially supported limb reconstruction teams and later played a key role in developing a plastic surgery training programme for local surgeons, including the training of a Palestinian surgeon in the UK. Her humanitarian missions have included work at both the European Gaza Hospital and Nasser Hospital, with recent visits in March, August, and May 2024–2025. She continues to support surgical care and education in the region.
